Predemolition Asbestos Audits

Although asbestos is no longer used, it is still found in many buildings. The City of Winnipeg requires a predemolition asbestos audit be performed prior to their issuing a demolition permit. A predemolition audit is performed by going through a building and locating building materials that may potentially contain asbestos. Each location is marked with a unique tracking number and a sample is collected for analysis at an accredited laboratory. A complete report is issued on the findings that includes laboratory results, the location of the samples, the asbestos percentage and type of asbestos. Pictures are included to make the report easy to read.
